A Different Way of Thinking.
A More Direct Way of Coaching

How I work and Why

Who I am

I’m Barbara. I’m a coach, strategist, and thinking partner for people who are looking to get unstuck, develop their resilience, and find a way forward that actually makes sense to them.

I work best with people who think deeply, feel strongly, but feel frustrated by approaches that rely on pressure, hype, fluff, or platitudes. My style is calm, structured, and direct, but it is also deeply compassionate. I believe that the most empathetic thing I can do is to be honest with you, and to help you find a way forward that is safe and sustainable.

I have successfully completed my level 2 ICF Business and Personal Coaching Programme with Barefoot Coaching, one of the most respected coaching institutions in the UK, and am currently working on my Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching at the University of Chester.

Alongside my coaching work, I continue to operate as an independent consultant in analytics and digital strategy. I’ve worked with international large organisations as well as small businesses in various sectors, such as travel, education, retail and technology. Prior to starting my consultancy business in 2017, I was the Director of Analytics & Search at Fairmont Raffles Hotels Intl, where I worked for 16 years.

My ongoing professional practice keeps my coaching grounded in reality.

How I think and work

I’m autistic and highly analytical. I’m comfortable sitting with complexity, uncertainty, and contradiction. I don’t judge. I value confidentiality.

I tend to notice patterns others miss, ask questions that filter out noise, and stay grounded when things feel messy or overwhelming. I don’t rush people into action. Understanding and clarity comes first. From there, progress follows naturally. You get to choose the pace and how challenging you’d like me to be.

Because I process information deeply and analytically, my coaching style is one of complete presence. I offer a high level of focus that allows my clients to feel truly seen and heard. I’m not just listening to your words, I’m listening to the structure of your challenges so we can untangle them together. My goal is to provide a calm environment where you can explore your reality without the pressure to “perform” for my benefit.

Why resilience and confidence aren’t theoretical for me

I don’t talk about resilience or confidence as abstract qualities. I’ve developed them over a lifetime of challenges. I’ve had to rebuild my life from the ground up, more than once. My path hasn’t been linear or protected. I’ve experienced periods where stability disappeared entirely, where progress meant rebuilding basic structure, safety, and trust in myself before anything else was possible.

Over time, through self-directed learning, a lifelong deep interest in psychology and neuroscience, and a lot of trial and error, I taught myself how to regulate anxiety, overcome the traumatic events I experienced, communicate effectively, and function in environments that weren’t designed for me. All that work made me clearer, steadier, resilient, and resourceful. I still love learning about how brains work.

From rebuilding to leadership

That internal work is what later allowed me to build a senior corporate career, speak at international conferences, and eventually run a successful independent consultancy with a 6 figure turnover.

None of that came from confidence tricks or motivational techniques. It came from understanding how the brain functions, making the most of how my brain works, recognising my limits, and working with them rather than against them.

This is also why I don’t believe in offering “fancy packages” or a “one size fits all” approach. Every individual is different, with their own strengths and challenges. It’s about you and what makes sense for you.

What makes my coaching different

I don’t push people to override themselves, perform confidence, or commit to actions they don’t have the capacity to sustain.

Instead, I help people build confidence through clarity, resilience through self-trust, and communication through understanding rather than scripts. My work is informed by psychology, systems thinking, and evidence-based coaching principles, not belief-driven techniques or motivational pressure. The aim isn’t short-term motivation, it’s durable change that actually holds up in real life.

Clients often describe working with me as insightful, grounding, and unexpectedly practical. Sessions are thoughtful and conversational rather than performative, with space to think rather than pressure to “do”.

CURIOUS TO SEE IF THIS IS A FIT?

coaching shouldn’t be about forcing you into a model

It should be about building a strategy around how your brain actually works.
